Dar es
Salaam.
Mainland
giants Young Africans can now have on board striker Obrey Chirwa in their
Premier League matches.
The
Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) disciplinary committee has lifted an
indefinite suspension slapped on the Zambian player by Tanzania Premier League
Board allegedly for indiscipline recently.
Singida
United’s Deus Kaseke must also be rubbing his hands with glee as the committee
said he is now free to feature for his team.
Chirwa and
Kaseke suffered the Premier League board’s wrath together with former Young
African forward Simon Msuva, who now features for Difaa El Jadida of Morocco.
The
disciplinary committee chairman, Peter Hela, said yesterday that Singida United
and Young African were now free to field the duo in their league matches.
The three
players were suspended for allegedly harassing a referee during the Mainland
Premier League match between Young African and Mbao FC at the CCM Kirumba
Stadium in Mwanza.
Msuva and
Kaseke were then playing for Dar Young African S.C.
He said
the disciplinary committee’s decision to set them free was reached during a
meeting held in the city on Tuesday.
He said
the Tanzania Premier League Board erred to suspend the trio because they were
not involved in the fracas during the Mwanza match.
“Both
Kaseke and Chirwa, who did not feature for their respective teams in the
opening matches of the Mainland Premier League last weekend, can now be
included in the two teams’ line-ups,” he said.
Meanwhile,
Msuva joined the national soccer team, Taifa Stars, players at camp yesterday
ahead of an international friendly match against The Zebras of Botswana at the
Uhuru Stadium tomorrow.
The
slippery forward is among five foreign-players expected to feature for the team
during the showdown, which falls on Fifa dates for international friendly
matches.
The Zebras
arrived in the country yesterday, raring to down the hosts in what promises to
be an exciting match.
Msuva said
yesterday that he was in great shape, looking forward to torment the visitors
defence in tomorrow’s match.
